If you were to ask what was happening in the studio today, my answer would have to be a resounding and excited "Nothing!". And then I would go on to say that everything that happened today, happened really far away from the studio.

Today was our semi-regular studio-wide creativity development day.

And this was one of the best creativity development days the studio has hat yet. Today was spent on the shores of Lake Huron enjoying the culinary creativity of those wonderful chefs at the Little Inn at Bayfield, meandering through artists galleries around the village, and watching the seagulls play in the waves along the shore.

There is nothing to build a little creativity like sand between the toes.

So just what was accomplished 'out of the studio' today? Alot, actually.

As of today, the studio has established some new promotional material. More plans were devsied for a new line of creativity kits for children under 5 coming soon from the studio. And, we took some really gorgeous photographs for whatever mid-winter project we undertake to remind us of the summer sun.

All that, and I had a few moments to muse on my own creative thoughts. (The thought that has stuck with me the longest is really nothing consequential - but can you tell me how ants comprehend time? I spent what seemed like a long time watching a struggling ant climb the hills and valleys of sand made by wind and footprints, and I just couldn't help but wonder how the ant felt.... did it feel like he/she/it  was climbing forever? - Did I mention inconsequential?)

Really, the message of this particular blog is that creativity development days are absolutely necessary for the creative soul. A change of scenery may be all you need to bring a little spark of creativity back to your world (and mine). In fact, I read recently (but I couldn't tell you where...) that the best way to experience a little creativity is to do something differently than you would normally - go to a different coffee shop for your morning latte, walk your kids to school a different way, try mexican for dinner instead of your usual.... (the possibilities are endless).

It is amazing what a different perspective can do.

I know for sure that we have been over and over our promotional material 'issues' for weeks. 30 minutes in a different place, and everything was resolved.

So - that is what is going on 'out of the studio'. But have no fear - tomorrow we are back hard at work in the studio and I have great things to tell you about a really neat homemade glue that is pure magic! I also have a project to share that I was working on Monday (before today's out-of-studio-experience) using this magical glue and I can't wait to share :)

So - with that thought, I will see you tomorrow. I am off to see just how good those beach shots look...
